NWDA Annual Conference and AGM
This event was held at the Manchester Central Convention Complex on 18th October 2007


The NWDA’s Annual Conference showcased the good progress that has been made to drive forward economic growth in England’s Northwest during 2006/07.

Throughout the year, the Agency focussed on providing strategic leadership through the delivery of the Regional Economic Strategy (RES). A number of RES priority projects are already driving further economic growth, with significant developments being made on the region’s Transformational Actions. These include the launch of new Business Link Service, the opening of the new University of Cumbria and the development of mediacity:uk at Salford Quays.

Chief Executive Steven Broomhead presented an overview of some of the key work undertaken by the Agency and its partners during the year. Chairman Bryan Gray outlined the region’s future priorities. In addition, there was the opportunity to hear from a range of public and private sector partners including Peel Holdings, Vauxhall Motors and Tate Liverpool. The keynote speech was given by the Rt. Hon Beverley Hughes MP Minister of State and Minister for the Northwest.
