FSA Board Briefing Session - 11 June 2008
Board Briefing Session - 11 June 2008

LondonPreBoard

On 11 June a briefing session was held updating Board members on the Agency's work relating to GM foods and other technical issues - such as food irradiation, cloning and nanotechnologies - in advance of a horizon scanning event planned for later in the year.

The briefing reported on what new technology has to offer in terms of its risks and benefits, whether the FSA is doing any work in relation to this and how the FSA might engage with the public. It also provides an overview of external activity.

In line with the Agency's commitment to openness this session was recorded, including questions from Board members and the answers given, and is now made available here as video-on-demand. Accompanying presentation slides can also be viewed.

The above topics may be discussed at the Board's next Open Meeting in Cardiff. Coverage of these meetings, as with all FSA Open Board meetings, can be viewed in full here.
